Meet Heather Moore, DDS

Since she was a little girl, Dr. Moore knew she wanted to be a dentist. It all started when her dad would tell her stories about her late great uncle who was a dentist in Great Falls, Dr. Jerry Cady DDS.

Dr. Heather MooreHearing the stories of how he made people smile and how he was able to create art with his hands all while making someone feel better about themselves really resonated with her. When Dr. Moore was about 8 years old, she would pretend her stuffed animals were her patients and she would use her art supplies to do dentistry on their “teeth”. Dr. Moore’s dream was to become a dentist and she knew that someday she would fill the shoes of her great uncle whose life was cut too short.

Dr. Moore was born and raised in Great Falls. She graduated in 2006 from Great Falls High School where she was active in student government, choir, and inter-mural sports. In 2010, Dr. Moore graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree at Carroll College in Helena, Montana where she met her husband Kyle. She enjoyed watching Kyle play and coach for the Fighting Saints football team and never missed a game. Kyle and Dr. Moore were college sweethearts and have quite the story of how they met (ask Dr. Moore sometime). Kyle, being from Portland, OR, fell in love with Montana while attending Carroll and would soon realize that once you live in Montana, you don’t want to leave.

Dr. Moore then dragged Kyle with her to Omaha, Nebraska where she obtained her DDS at Creighton School of Dentistry in 2014. At Creighton, Dr. Moore was expected to perform all aspects of dentistry including placing implants, root canal treatment, extraction of all teeth including wisdom teeth, fabricating dentures, etc. With having gone to Creighton, Dr. Moore felt completely prepared to practice dentistry and felt comfortable in providing exceptional care to her patients.

After graduating, Dr. Moore and Kyle packed their things yet again and moved to Spokane, WA where she would work in private practice for 6 years. During this time, they welcomed a daughter, Amelia, and a son, Jacob. It was after having their kids that they realized that something was missing, family, and Montana. Although the practice and patients that Dr. Moore had been with for so long became like family, Montana was always pulling at her heart to be closer to home. In 2021, Dr. Moore and Kyle packed up their family and decided to fulfill their dream of raising their kids in Dr. Moore’s hometown of Great Falls and to open their own dental practice, Homegrown Dental.

Dr. Heather Moore with her husbandHomegrown Dental’s mission is to provide the most professional quality care possible but yet treat you as part of the family. Dr. Moore hopes that with her Great Falls roots, feminine touch, and Montana values instilled in her that patients will feel that they are at home from the moment they walk thru the door. Honesty, compassion, and empathy are what sets Dr. Moore apart from others. Most dentists can say that they provide the best dentistry for their patients but very few can say that they genuinely care about their patients like family. Dr. Moore and her team are so excited to meet you!

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Moore is busy being a mom and wife and loves every second of it. Aside from raising her kids, Dr. Moore enjoys cooking, skiing, boating on the lake, hiking, and embracing every minute with family and friends. Montana has so much to offer and Dr. Moore is so blessed to call it home.
